About the Company

Grooveshark, a peer-to-peer music file-sharing community that brokers music transactions between members, is a service of Escape Media Group, Inc. By charging for the songs exchanged between members on its site, Grooveshark will compensate copyright holders and users while providing the convenience and selection of P2P file sharing in an online music community. All Grooveshark files are free of Digital Rights Management (DRM) technology, allowing users to play the songs they purchase on any type of computer or digital music player.     Gainesville company, Escape Media Group Inc, seeks experienced team-oriented PHP5 web developers to work on Grooveshark (http://www.grooveshark.com), a revolutionary legal peer-2-peer music-sharing marketplace and social network. Applicants must be experienced with object oriented programming and SQL (specifically MySQL). A passion for technology is a must. No experience in XHTML/CSS/JavaScript is required; however, a working knowledge of these technologies would be valued. Familiarity with design patterns and their application is also a plus. Part-time and full-time positions are available, and schedules are flexible. Our office is located just minutes away from the University of Florida campus.

Our office is located just minutes away from the University of Florida campus.

    Qualifications: (red = required)

    • Industry experience or equivalent degree.
    • Strong database concepts and fundamentals with a demonstrated ability to use that knowledge to design implement and operate database systems for performance and reliability.
    • The ability to create database tools that automate operations and database administration.
    • The ability to work with software engineers to ensure optimal application design through the use of performance data modeling, schema design and query reviews.
    • The ability to administer production and development databases while ensuring maximum service availability.
    • The ability to design normalized database schema
    • The ability to interface with network, hardware and system operations teams to resolve problems with application and database systems.
    • The ability to quickly learn new technologies and systems.
    • Very strong analytical and problem solving skills
    • Demonstrated experience in developing and managing production systems through multiple release cycles and product versions.
