Get stoked, indie-pop fans! Pop Mayhem kicks off tonight with a free show at Wayward Council at 9:30. Along with a few local bands, the festival features pop darlings from far and wide, including Arizona (Boyracer) and Australia (the Cannanes). Also promised are a few really exciting reunions, most notably that of the ten-year old Brittle Stars.

Unlike certain other Gainesville fests, you’re not very likely to get a beer poured on your head or go home reeking of curry tempeh after Pop Mayhem. Occupational hazards here might include sore feet from dancing so much or a teenybopper crush on a painfully cute drummer. Us lowly interns will be out and about documenting the madness, so say hello! See you there!
