Grooveshark is about to post the biggest update to our system that has yet been performed. We’re currently in the process of running a migration script, which is scheduled to finish running late Monday.
This won’t affect most Grooveshark operations, but please be aware of the following:
1) No new songs will be scanned into users’ libraries during this migration period. Any library scanning that takes place in Sharkbyte will be queued, and will automatically sync with our servers once the database port is completed and tested. Normal library scanning should resume on Tuesday, April 1.
2) Features within the Grooveshark website, such as downloads, playback, tagging, and search, should all be unaffected.
3) We’re expecting approximately three hours of downtime during the migration, which are planned to begin on Monday afternoon (EST). If any changes occur in this schedule, we’ll post another update on this blog.
4) Once the update is complete, we’re expecting better overall performance and increased reliability of data. Still, this is a huge update, and there may be some bugs or speed issues as a result of this change. If you encounter any issues, please email them to support@grooveshark.com.
Thanks for your patience, and we look forward to a better Grooveshark for everyone early next week.
