50 Cent Changes His Tune

Courtney Bethel September 15th, 2007

So it turns out, I was right. In an update on the blog I wrote yesterday, it seems that regardless of Kanye’s music sales, 50 Cent won’t be quitting. In fact, he has already recorded his follow up album, set to be called Before I Self Destruct. I know, I laughed at the irony of the title too.

50Plus it turns out everyone misconstrued his words anyways. When he said “If Kanye West sells more records than 50 Cent on Sept. 11, I’ll no longer write music. I’ll write music and work with my other artists, but I won’t put out any more solo albums,” he didn’t mean that was only in week 1. No, there are week 2 stipulations on his “quitting” that apparently he forgot to mention.

From the source, “And I bet this, when Kanye West’s sales come in, he’s gonna have a 70% decrease [the second week] ’cause Def Jam is gonna buy records to keep him closer to 50 Cent,” he continued. “So watch the first week and then watch the second week. Watch his [expletive] drop off the planet. We keep our angles covered before we make a decent bet.”

Well that makes much more sense, 50! There is no possible explanation as to how Kanye could be beating you other than Def Jam buying all his records to make you look bad! Could it be that maybe you pissed some people off when you made your uber confident bet, or GASP that Kanye’s album is actually better than yours? Yea, you’re right, that’s just not possible.
